“Fun Day” for the community to bring families together and create a sense of community belonging. The day usually involves games, a barbeque, and entertainment. Attendees will be mainly younger families from the Leslie Park Community Association.

Event: Tim Horton's Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival
June 17 - 19, 2011
The Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival is the largest festival of its kind in North America and is one of Ottawa’s must-attend summer events. This 3-day festival is hosted at Mooney’s Bay Park from June 17-19 and features non-stop dragon boat racing, with 190 team and 5000 paddlers. Over 70,000 spectators take in cultural activities, live music, a variety of vendors/exhibits and familyoriented entertainment.

The festival opens on Sunday May 15th, from 2-5 pm.

Chinatown Remixed will be donating all the sales from their merchandise table towards Japan Tsunami Relief.

Function: Oto-Wa Taiko Concert: Two Cities - One Beat
Location: Canadian Museum of Civilization Theatre

This Mother's Day special one-time event took place at the Canadian Museum of Civilization. Our very own Oto-Wa Taiko proudly welcomed Kamo Tsunamura Daiko from Sendai, Japan for two special joint concerts in honour of the 80th Anniversary of Japan-Canada Diplomatic Relations and Asian Heritage Month. The Concerts, entitled "Two Cities - One Beat", featured the powerful sounds of the traditional Japanese drum, as played by Oto-wa Taiko and Kamo Tsunamura Daiko. The matinee show included a short performance by Ottawa's children's taiko group - Dagaku.
